Why coach with Brian

Every player has a ceiling. Coaching is how you move it.

You can keep playing rec sessions and pick things up slowly — or you can fix the specific things holding your game back, with someone watching closely enough to see them. Each session starts with a quick read on where your game's at, then drills targeted at the 2–3 things that'll move your level fastest — not a generic lesson plan.

Coaching that's actually certified

Pickleball Australia accreditation means structured technique, not guesswork — plus a medal-winning competitive record to back it up.

Feedback in real time, not after the fact

Rec play tells you the score. A coach tells you why you lost the point — and fixes it on the next rally, not next week.

A session that fits your group

Train solo for full attention, bring a partner to split the cost, or get friends together — the price drops as the group grows.

Brian immediately improved my game! We started with footwork, shot selection, and also discussed strategy. The session was packed with practical tips that actual work. Brian knows exactly how to push you at your level.

Brian quizzed me before our session to learn my strengths and weaknesses and what I thought I needed to work on. During the session, he focused on methods I could use immediately to improve my skills. Very enjoyable. I will definitely be doing another coaching session!

Some of the best money I have ever spent. With just a few tweaks, Brian significantly improved my serve. Taking it from a "just get it over the net" to a shot I can use to put pressure on my opponent.

Common questions.

I've never played pickleball. Is coaching still for me?

Yes — beginners are very welcome. A first session usually covers grip, basic rules, and positioning so you can get straight into real points without feeling lost.

Do I need my own paddle and gear?

Bring your own if you have one — otherwise mention it when you get in touch and Brian can advise on a loan paddle or what to buy before your first session.

How many sessions before I notice improvement?

Most players feel a difference in their next rec game after just one session, since the focus is on the specific thing holding you back. Bigger technique changes (like a new serve or dink) usually take 2–3 sessions to feel natural under pressure.

What level do I need to be for group coaching?

Groups work best when everyone's at a similar level, so sessions stay focused. If you're bringing a mixed group, mention the spread when you get in touch and Brian will tailor the session accordingly.

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions are run at a time and location that works for both you and Brian. Coaching typically takes place at Wellington Point or Victoria Point. Exact timing and court details we discuss once you reach out.
